Hello!  Welcome to the website devoted to helping your children succeed in the fifth grade.  Here you will find links to websites and games that will supplement what has gone on in the classroom, as well as links to homework assignments and examples of different projects your children have accomplished during the school year.

     One of my goals in teaching your students this year is to create a group of technology savvy students who are comfortable navigating in an online environment for necessary help.  To reach this goal, we will use different forms of technology to create a level of comfort with computers.  Homework will be posted on the site on a weekly basis, along with any ongoing projects that your students are working on.  Please encourage your child to look at the website when they say they have 'No Homework', because that will be a very rare case indeed!

      Students can also find links to topics we are covering in class, and links for looking information up using reference websites.  This site will also serve as a place where students will launch whole-class learning experiences, such as web-quests, through the directions given in class. 

     I hope that we will be able to work together this year to create a setting where your child feels comfortable learning and asking questions.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding your child either through the traditional methods or email (hwhite(at)lowell.k12.ma.us--you need to change the (at) to an @ symbol).  Barring unforeseen circumstances, my goal is to respond to any communication within one school day.
